As expected, the movie was visually stunning! Kids of ALL ages will enjoy this movie. I would recommend however that you go in there expecting a movie purely for entertainment purposes. There were a little bit too much of the flashbacks which made it a little loose. Christina Ricci looked like an anime character which worked well I thought. If you are looking for great acting and a beautiful storyline, I would probably pass on this. Great family movie, interesting date movie. :-)

I took three 6 year olds today. Overall they loved the movie and were on the edge of their seats at the end. Bouncing up and down excited!
HOWEVER, I almost walked out. The word '***' was used multiple times and I find that inappropriate for my children. Also, there is one scene when the 'bad guy' is having his hench men slap around a man who is tied to a chair. The bad guy makes a reference to "having a taste for your sister" and then proceeds to feed a meat bone to his piranahs (sp?). I know this is rated PG and guidance is needed.
Just an FYI. Be prepared.

OK, I was a fan of the original Speed Racer cartoon series 40 years ago, meaning I'm now 40 years older than the target demographic of 10-year old boys. But if you don't expect more than a movie meant for 10-year olds, you'll be highly entertained. It's not just the CGI work, which can be breathtaking at times, but the visual style, scene editing, etc., are all a constant treat. The movie is very family oriented and even the annoying kid brother grew on me by the end. And if you always wanted to see if Christina Ricci could play a fairly normal character, this may be your one opportunity.

This movie was incredibly full of speed.I really enjoyed this movie
eyeful
i've seen my share of cg
i have to say i was impressed with how far they took this one
frenetic scenes bordering on psychedelic
superfast action w/out that annoying blur that usually hides poor craftsmanship
yeah, it's long
it could have used a bit of trimming
but the visuals are pretty fricken amazing!!
plus my friend's kids had fun, they were bouncing off the walls afterwards
definitely worth seeing if your a fan of the original series
i caught a lot of little details and homages throughout that made me giggle
